Guide
qPCR Primer and ProbePlanning
A research-use planning guide for target definition, primer or probe specifications, controls, and customer-side validation.
Define the measurement
State whether the experiment concerns expression, copy number, genotyping, a research pathogen target, or another quantitative endpoint. Include the reference sequence and instrument model when channel compatibility matters.
Design information
- Provide the target region, accession, or genomic coordinates
- Record primer orientation and the intended amplicon
- Identify reporter and quencher chemistry for probe-based assays
- List positive, negative, extraction, and no-template controls planned by the laboratory
Reagent specification
Primer, probe, label, purification, and delivery choices are confirmed before synthesis. Design support does not replace experimental optimization.
Validation boundary
Sensitivity, specificity, efficiency, limit of detection, and clinical performance require customer-side or separately scoped validation. They are not guaranteed by oligonucleotide supply.
